The MEP at Columbus State is a core piece of Central Ohio and our entire region’s economic development ecosystem.
In 2018, the MEP centers across the country worked with more than 27,700 manufacturers leading to $16 billion in sales, $1.7 billion in cost savings, $4 billion in new client investments, and the creation or retention of more than 122,000 jobs.
The MEP at Columbus State was thrilled to join that network in late 2019.

Who do we work with?

The MEP at Columbus State works with small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMMEs) located in Central Ohio. Why? Because Ohio’s economy is driven by manufacturing, accounting for $104.6 billion of the state’s $676.1 billion economy and 14.9 percent of private-sector employment in Ohio.

SMMEs are an engine of economic growth, but often have difficulty identifying new growth opportunities, optimizing supply chains, recruiting, educating and retaining quality employees, and can lack the resources required to drive product innovation and technology advancement.

The MEP at Columbus State is your partner to meet these SMME challenges head-on, grow your business and workforce, and create new and innovative products, all while supporting Ohio’s overall economic development.

We work with SMMEs such as ALERIS, Tigerpoly Manufacturing, Inc., Hyperion Materials & Technologies, FRANKE, and PK Controls to find new markets, growing and developing the workforce needed to drive their business development and expansion.
